Best Link Ever

I just made my computer WAY more fun thanks to Joe--
go here and get WIDGETS! if you don't know what they are-- they are little things that sit on your computer screen and do all sorts of completely random but fun stuff. some are actually useful too :) if you click the link, you can first download the program and then go to the gallery and either search for new ones or browse through all of them. way fun.

my faves:
the ones that actually serve a purpose: weather, VA Beach traffic cam, to do list, picture frame, quick search
the ones I just think are hilarious: random AIM away message generator, retirement countdown, talking Napolean Dynamite and Marvin the Martian, fuzzy clock, quote archives, comics, little stupid animated thingies... the list is endless.

there are like 20 million and they are so fun. trust me. (and no, I may be a 2 year Grover, but I will NOT be downloading the Daily Bible Quote one, just in case you were wondering...)

anyway, I have SOOOO much cleaning to do before the family gets here Thursday, so I am off. can't wait! hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving!!!!

Picks

See, I was going to do a new set of picks & pans (it HAS been awhile), but I don't really have any pans right now except work tests and the regular BS (oh and IKEA! future post :Þ) SO, instead, here are my picks :)

Fall-- now, most of you know I hate cold weather, but I LOVE the smell of fall. And, I remembered last weekend on the drive up to NoVA just how much I love the colors. gorgeous. winter, on the other hand, is still on my shit list.

My Name Is Earl-- hands down my favorite new show of this season. if you don't watch it, trust me you should! SO funny and SO well done!

Holidays-- I can't WAIT to see my family- both down here for Thanksgiving and in Philly for Christmas. and I have way fun day before Christmas Eve plans too involving a Penguins-Flyers game in Pittsburgh. should be a GREAT couple of months.

organizing-- still in love with it! I was SO happy to redo my cabinets and dining room space, and tonight I reorganized my closet. yes, I have issues. (it's the gold in me!)

and the biggest recent pick of all, Steph's wedding!!! With this, I am also including the Westfields Marriott, which is now my favorite hotel ever. I seriously never want to stay anywhere else ever again. George even joked Sunday morning (after the tennis game and the room service) that Steph needs to get married more often :) But anyway the wedding-- gorgeous and so well done. just tons of fun. And I am now completely sold on the idea of having everything in one place-- makes the weekend so easy!

anyway, here are a couple pics. enjoy!

my favorite rehearsal dinner pic

can't BELIEVE they are MARRIED! actually, that's not the weird part-- it's that steph has a HUSBAND! :)

awwwww

okay okay here you go :) not a great pic of him, but I look terrible in the other one I have. and it's my blog. hehehe.

randomness

what a crazy few weeks! first it was the week at SDP in DC (good except for the 13 hour days every single day), then the management retreat in Richmond (seeing George from the Apprentice, Larry King, and Rudy Giuliani speak was worth the hotel's stale chips and tiny towels), then Steph's bachelorette party (best game ever: dirty bachelorette scavenger hunt!), and then the topper of all-- the wedding this weekend!

and, well, instead of rescheduling my CPCU test because I'm not ready (the RESPONSIBLE thing to do), I decided to take my paid days off this week and get my wedding errands done. and, well, every now and then I even study and make it worthwhile. wish me luck tomorrow!

but anyway, here are some random pics and links since I haven't posted in forever. :) enjoy!

First of all, by the time I left my work conference, if one more person said the phrases "drill down" or "root cause" to me, I could have screamed. My dad remedied the situation, though and sent me this link: the Random Corporate Buzzword Generator :) hours of cubicle fun!

Another fun link-- Speaking Philadelphian-- I just last night learned that "done work" is not a common thing to say! (as in, woohoo! I'm done work for the week!) And, just last month I learned that it is NOT normal to start a thought with "anymore" (as in, I used to go to Food Lion, but anymore it's just so dirty!) So anyway, the above link has one guy talking about how he never realized he talked any differently than anyone else. I can relate :) (but I will ALWAYS say bagel MY way!)
